I was looking for a current review for this place and was surprised I did not find one so I’m leaving one now! We were looking for a cozy pub for a meal after a hill walk on our way back to Edinburgh yesterday and the photos of this place were instantly attractive. Menu looked good so we decided to try it out. We arrived just a few minutes after they opened and were greeted by a friendly server who told us to sit wherever we like, so of course we chose a spot right next to the cozy wood stove. The server made sure the fire did not go out My friend asked if she could play the piano while we waited for our food as we were the only customers, he said sure and even turned down the house music and applauded for her after she played three original songs. Menu was diverse, and I was delighted to see a vegetarian haggis burger option. It was cooked perfectly and very tasty, not mushy like many such things can be. Fries were clearly fresh with no freezer taste. My friend ordered Cullen scink which was delicious and side of vegetables which were perfectly cooked. It was so lovely, We were joking about just booking a room and sleeping there as we did not want to leave! Nice selection of local and regional beers on tap, including two nonalcoholic versions. For nicer weather, there are tables out front and a lovely garden outback.

Popped in for a few drinks as was impressed. It's a oldey worldly pub which I like and plenty of beers on offer. The times on Google are wrong though and not open Monday and Tuesday which was a shame as would have gone more. Out of the 2 pubs in Kippen it's the better one in my opinion. Definitely worth a visit

This pub has absolutely brilliant food! We were visiting the area and stopped off here for dinner. Nice quiet atmosphere, the owner was pleasant as was the other chap behind the bar, the food quality was exceptional. I had the Steak Pie, my wife the Village Bangers and Mash - to be honest they were both amazing. The pub is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays - Google Maps needs updating in this regard.

An overnight stay as part of our wedding anniversary trip to Stirling . The pub is located in a lovely village. We were warmly welcomed and shown our room which was clean, comfortable and cosy with a good sized ensuite. We had an excellent dinner and drinks - staff were so helpful and friendly. Breakfast was great - lots of choices and beautifully cooked. Would definitely recommend

We have just returned home after a fabulous weekend at The Cross Keys in Kippen. The rooms are great as they are spacious and dog friendly. There is plenty of drinking space with indoor seats in 2 sections of the pub, and an enclosed outdoor garden at the back, with benches in the evening sun at the front. Great choice of beers, wines and drinks. THE FOOD HERE IS INCREDIBLE !! We had breakfast here twice and dinner, the food is really good. Great quality ingredients have been used and the food here is really really tasty . We had steamed muscles If you haven’t had Cullen skink before, definitely be sure to try that - a lovely creamy soup which tasted absolutely incredible and went really well with the steamed muscles. There is bread and butter which again is really nice tasting granary bread with lovely local butter. We also had some chicken bites which were really tasty. They were really really good. I would definitely recommend them. We didn’t have fish and chips, but I saw many of them going out especially with it being Friday and the portions are huge. They also looked really really tasty with big thick triple cooked chips. The beef burger and the chips are lovely very fresh. Everything was piping hot. The breakfast was equally incredible with fresh hot sausages potato gone haggis basically everything you need for a great Scottish breakfast. The whole place is dog friendly We had our dogs with us in the garden dogs with us in our bedroom and dogs with us at dinner and that breakfast . Ps the stick it off your pudding was absolutely phenomenal. It was a massive portion with lots of sauce exactly how I like it. I would definitely recommend this place. The service here is brilliant and the owner is just as lovely too. A great local pub ran by local people

Lovely local pub, worth the visit! Easy to get to from Stirling and Glasgow. Value for money is much better than what you get in the cities. The views in the area are amazing. Food is absolutely great, especially the Sunday Lunch. The owner and staff are super friendly. Perfect location for a staycation!
